All the new next-generation consoles have some form of online game purchase system (because microtransactions are the way to go), and the Wii is no exception. They use Wii points from a Wii Points Card (2000 Wii points equates to approximately $25) to buy games -- mostly classics from older game systems.
NES Games (500 Wii Points)
- Baseball: Early NES Sports game.
- Donkey Kong: Barrels, jumping, Mario and a giant monkey.
- Donkey Kong Jr.: The game where Mario is the villain and DK Jr. is the hero.
- Ice Hockey: The original NES version with the fat guy, the skinny guy, the average guy, and the zamboni!
- The Legend of Zelda: The original NES Zelda.
- Mario Bros.: The one in the sewers with the pipes.
- Pinball: Before there was Pokemon Pinball, there was this one.
- Soccer: One of the original NES games.
- Solomon's Key: A a great but difficult Puzzle game.
- Tennis: Another original NES sports title.
- Urban Champion: I've never even heard of this one.
- Wario's Woods: A late NES puzzle game, which is very similar to Puyo Pop, but requires bombs to detonate.
SNES Games (800 Wii Points)
- F-Zero: Futuristic racing game. Think Mario Kart without powerups.
- SimCity: Will Wright's original classic.
N64 Games (1000 Wii Points)
- Super Mario 64: Mario's foray into the 3D platformer.
Genesis Games (800 Wii Points)
- Altered Beast: Rise from your gwave and the bust up the baddies as a werewolf, dragon and other critters.
- Columns: Rearrange the jewel stacks in this puzzle game.
- Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine: Sega's rendition of the arcade game Puyo Pop
- Ecco the Dolphin: Save the ocean in this action game.
- Golden Axe: Classic Two-player fantasy action-arcade game.Smack the garden gnome for powerups!
- Gunstar Heroes: Action/Shooter/Platformer
- Ristar: Ristar was the proto-Sonic.
- Sonic the Hedgehog: The fast blue hedgehog collects coins.
- Space Harrier II: The sequel to Space Harrier. A graphically sophisticated 3D flyer in 1989.
- Toe Jam & Earl: Sega tried many attempts to create characters as great as Nintendo's. This was one of them.
TurboGrafx 16 Games (600 Wii Points)
- Bomberman '93: Bomberman. If you like it now, you'd probably like the earlier versions too.
- Bonk's Adventure: The TurboGrafx mascot.
- Dungeon Explorer: Classic Perspective RPG
- Super Star Soldier: Classic Space Shooter.
- Victory Run: Every system has at least one racing game -- this was the TurboGrafx's.
